On the 11th September 2001 the world sat back in horror as it watched one of the most carefully orchestrated terrorist strikes occur in the heartland of the free, America. This was the first time in decades that US homeland security was breached and rather than attempt to learn from the incident, US foreign policy dictated that they should retaliate against this strike, without ever thinking publicly that this was indeed an act of retaliation from an oppressed world.

The reaction since then has been one of hostility to “the other” (i.e. that that is not “Western”) and a reaction that will eventually lead to immense conflict and the possible end of our civilisation. Should we not change our current course of action?
